Maxicare founder Roberto Macasaet passes away, 98
Dr. Roberto K. Macasaet, the founding chairman of Maxicare, one of the pioneer health maintenance organizations in the country, passed away on May 5, 2024. He was 98.
The Makati Medical Center Foundation, which he founded in 1992, mourned his loss in a Facebook post.
On its 32nd year, the corporate social responsibility arm of the hospital owned by bilyonaryo Manuel V. Pangilinan continues to help in nation building via public-private partnership programs and outreach missions.
Maxicare is under Antonio Go’s Equicom Group and the Gokongwei family’s private investment firm, JE Holdings. It has over 1,300 affiliate hospitals and clinics nationwide, as well as 20,000 accredited doctors and specialists.
Its current chairman is Macasaet’s son and namesake, Roberto M. Macasaet Jr.
